MacBride Birdblind

I drove down to the U of I MacBride Field Campus to go to the bird blind towards the end of this morning's snow event. Unfortunately, one of the maintenance staff was nearby and was creating enough background noise that the birds and animals were very skittish until he left. The snow had quit falling, but the squirrels and birds came back to enjoy the nearly full seed containers.

The image below is a male Cardinal who landed about 15' from where I was hidden in the blind. I took the image without any flash, using natural lighting from the gray skies of the departing snow storm.

Equipment: Canon 80D, 100-400 II Canon zoom, handheld at f5.6 @ 400mm. No Photoshop or Lightroom was used to enhance the image, just some cropping.
